I have decided to participate in fundraiser to support those afflicted by Cancer. I am one of 30 Event Participants that have volunteered to participate in a unique event, called the “Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Marathon Golf Tournament”, which is scheduled to be played at Duran Golf Club on February 7, 2025. While playing golf may not sound like a tough commitment, let me take a moment to explain my involvement. The format of this event will require myself and all participants to play a 50-hole golf marathon event to raise funds that will support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
A good friend of mine, Tom Dillon, has run the Boston Marathon to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since 2019 in memory of his mother. Tom will be continuing the journey by running his 7th Boston Marathon and raising money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Cancer does not only affect the individual with this disease, but it also touches the lives of the families, friends, work associates, and everyone that knows the afflicted person. In this moment, this is an opportunity for you to help us fight for this cause. Dana-Farber has a moto, “You Don’t Have to Be a doctor to Cure Cancer!”
This is where I need your help in a small, but significant way. I need your support in the way of a pledge of $1 per hole or whatever you can do, for the 50 holes I will play. My commitment to this event is to help raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with individuals like you that will support my efforts, if 10 people donate $1 per hole - $50 total, I help raise $500. If 30 participants raise $500, we raise
$15,000 for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Our organization, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Marathon Golf Tournament, has established a webpage that identifies myself and all the other Event Participants, and will allow you to easily make this donation under my name online. This can be charged to a credit card, or I can email you an invoice to allow you to pay by check if you should so prefer.
Thank you for taking time to read this and for your consideration of support.
On behalf of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute supported by this event, my sincere thanks!
