As some of you know, my good friend Tom Dillon decided 6 years ago to run the 2019 Boston Marathon and fundraise for Dana-Farber Cancer Research. He had lost his mother to cancer in June of 2018. She was an exceptional woman who volunteered with Dana-Farber to give hand massages to patients with cancer prior to her diagnosis. Tom will be raising money for Dana-Farber and continuing to run in his 7th Boston Marathon, in memory of his mother and in honor of many of his friends and family members.
I personally have had Colon cancer and as of now, I have beat it. I lost my father to Pancreatic cancer, my father-in-law to Colon cancer and my closest uncle to Prostate cancer. So I can certainly understand Tom's passion to raise money for cancer research.
I am planning on participating in the fifth Dana Farber Golf Marathon fundraiser on February 7th, 2025, at Duran Golf Club in Viera, Florida. We are all literally "chipping in" to play 50 holes of golf and raise more money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
